It’s National Great Outdoors Month in June, aimed at encouraging people to get out into beautiful spaces and enjoy the world around them.
This could simply be exercising outside with a walk or run or taking part in local events.
How lucky are you? If you work at Farnborough Business Park there are beautifully landscaped areas under the Hangar to enjoy and a network of cycle paths and walks across the business park. One of the perks of the park is that you can hire one of our Ryde bike for free up to 72 hours! Follow the instructions here and you could be exploring in no time!
Alternatively, there are a whole host of local events which will give you opportunity to get out and about and find some new beautiful spaces to enjoy.
1. Victoria Day (June 8) Farnborough town centre: This community event celebrates the local heritage and offers a range of activities, including a parade, live entertainment, food stalls, and family-friendly activities. It’s a great way to enjoy the local culture and community spirit.
2. Runway’s End Outdoor Centre Activities, Aldershot (near Farnborough) (Throughout June): the centre offers a variety of outdoor activities including canoeing, kayaking, climbing, and archery. It’s perfect for adventure seekers and families looking to engage in outdoor sports and activities in a beautiful setting.
4. The Great British Food Festival (June 29-30): Dinton Pastures Country Park, near Wokingham. This festival features a range of food stalls, live music, cooking demonstrations, and family-friendly activities like fairground rides and workshops. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy a weekend filled with culinary delights and outdoor fun.
5. Outdoor Theatre at The Vyne (June 29): The Importance of Being Earnest at The Vyne, a National Trust property near Basingstoke. This event promises an amazing outdoor theatre experience where you can bring a picnic, blanket, or camping chair and enjoy the movie under the stars.
Beyond location and specification, organisations are increasingly considering how design, comfort and access to amenities shape day-to-day experience and longer-term working culture.
Rather than being viewed as an added extra, workplace wellbeing is now part of how many businesses think about creating environments that feel supportive, engaging and fit for modern working patterns.
When we think of modern office buildings, we picture dynamic, multi-use environments that recognise a simple truth: productivity flourishes when spaces adapt to people, not the other way round.
This vision is a world away from conventional desk-focused layouts, moving towards integrated spaces accommodating diverse working styles.
